Best known for his still lifes of flowers and fruit, Roesen rarely painted anything different. He paid very close attention to the minute detail and arrangement of his fruit and flowers. This display is a lavish table of fruit with grapes carefully draped in just the right place. This painting has a very exotic feel to it as the fruit overtakes the table with foliage still attached.
