This painting is
set off the coast of Providence, RI where Heade lived in his 40s and
50s. His intense interest in thunderstorms led him to create this
emotionally infused piece. The colors are very dark and the hazy
dark grey that moves across the canvas shows the movement of the
menacing rain.
